GULFPORT, Miss. — A 26-year-old mother is accused of attempted murder after stabbing her child during an argument with her husband.

Nomatter Gava-Hudson appeared in court in Harrison County on Monday, where she was informed of her rights and the charge against her.

In addition, the judge determined the next step, the preliminary hearing, would take place in the next three to four weeks.

According to police reports, Gava-Hudson was arguing with her husband when she stabbed her 3-year-old son in the stomach.

WJTV reported the child was rushed to a local hospital before being flown to Mobile, Alabama for additional treatment.

It’s unclear how many times the child was stabbed, or what condition he’s in now.

Gava-Hudson was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center where she was put on suicide watch.

Her bond was set at $1 million.
