SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies are investigating the shooting death of a young mother, 24-year-old Trenishia Bean, in her southeast Shelby County home.

Deputies driving four-wheelers searched empty, overgrown lots near the home on Crosswater Lane on Sunday morning. Investigators said Bean’s boyfriend reported her murder.

Her family rushed to the home, hoping to get answers.

“It was all her people, they were hugged up and I heard cars, talking,” neighbor Tina Marshall said.

Marshall said she didn’t hear any gunshots. She woke up to the blaring lights of squad cars and Bean’s family crying in the street. She then witnessed what appears to be the most devastating part to this already tragic murder.

“I saw police bring out the babies and put one in one car in one in another car,” Marshall said.

Family members said Bean’s 4-year-old daughter and her boyfriend’s small child were at home when the boyfriend called deputies.

“It’s so sad, hoping they didn’t see anything,” Marshall said.

A black Infinity sat in the couple’s driveway for hours until investigators towed it away. Neighbors said Bean’s boyfriend drives the car. Deputies questioned him, but he has not been named as a suspect.

Family members and friends just want to know why the murder happened.

“She’s a mom with babies. That’s heartbreaking to know that a child is going to be without their mom,” Marshall said. “Whoever did it, they are out there, and they are going to have to live with that.”

According to investigators, no one has been arrested.
