Motorcyclist killed on High Pointe Terrace identified

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man who was tragically killed as the result of a motorcycle accident in the High Pointe Terrace area has been identified.

Officer said James Goings,36, was riding his motorcycle down High Pointe Terrace near Mimosa Friday evening when he lost control.

His bike went into the southbound lane of traffic and hit the front of another vehicle.

Goings was thrown from the motorcycle into the middle of the street.

His bike eventually came to a stop in the grass on High Pointe Terrace.

The 63-year-old driver of the second vehicle told officers she saw Goings heading towards her and tried to swerve to avoid being hit.

She was still struck by the motorcycle and then hit a pole.

She and a 15-year-old also inside the vehicle were taken to local hospitals for evaluation.

Both were listed as being in non-critical condition.
