MPD Facebook ‘Lives Matter’ photo getting a lot of attention

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — For the first time since they set up their Facebook page, the Memphis Police Department is changing its cover photo.

Normally that wouldn’t get much attention, but these aren’t normal times with police and the community.

The photo posted shows a black female officer with a black male and a white female.

The officer has ‘Their Lives Matter’ with a heart on drawn on her hand.

The the other two people have arrows pointing at the officer and the words “Her Life Matters’  on their hands.

The photo has more than 19,000 ‘likes’ since being posted Tuesday.

After the murder of officer Sean Bolton, Police Director Toney Armstrong has made a point to say all lives matter rather than police lives matter or black lives matter.
