MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MPD detectives are searching for the suspect responsible for a deadly shooting in the Bethel Grove neighborhood.

Family identified the victim as 46-year-old Eric Logan.

Police said Logan was shot and killed around 12:15 a.m. Friday in the 2300 block of Kimball Ave. near Trezevant St.

A family friend told authorities he had just gone inside to get cigarettes when he heard several gunshots outside.

He ran outside just in time to see the victim’s gray 2008 Infinit pulling out of the driveway and followed down the street by a red car.

Logan had been shot multiple times.

He later died on the scene.

The family told WREG’s Melissa Moon Logan had been the victim of another violent crime in the past.

Just last year he was shot in the back and leg during a robbery.

He’d spent the last year going to rehab in order to walk again.

So far, police haven’t released a description of the suspect.
