MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police confirmed it is investigating a sexual assault case at Hanley Elementary School.

The investigation involves two children, police said.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services will join MPD in reviewing the case.

Aspire Public Schools said in a statement it is fully cooperating with MPD and TDCS in the investigation.

“Please be assured that at Hanley, we take the well-being and safety of our students seriously,” the statement read. “Having a safe and nurturing environment for our students to learn is our number one priority.”

Police and Aspire Public Schools declined to provide further details about the investigation.
