MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said officers were on the scene Tuesday afternoon of a deadly shooting near the Oak Court Mall, in East Memphis.

MPD said the shooting happened outside of the mall. A man was walking back to his car from the mall when he was shot. Police say one or men in a silver Toyota sedan drove up, got out, shot the victim, got back in the car and sped away. Originally, MPD said the victim was in critical condition but later said he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are looking for the silver Toyota but investigators have not released a detailed description of any suspects. They also haven’t said if the victim knew his killer or why anyone would want to shoot him.
