MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A mother and her son were arrested this week after Memphis Police say she ordered him to shoot her boyfriend.
On February 5 at 6:55 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault that occurred in the 1000 block of Rosewood Ave.
Officers spoke with a man who said after a verbal altercation with his partner Denise Woody, she allegedly yelled to her son Prentis Lee to “shoot” him.

The victim said that Lee then approached his vehicle armed with a black handgun allegedly saying, “You got my momma f—– up. I will shoot you in your face.”
Lee then allegedly fired a shot at the victim, striking him in his lower right forearm as he attempted to block his face.
The victim drove off to flee to safety as Lee allegedly fired several more shots, shattering the windows of the victim’s 2014 Dodge Ram 1500.
The victim positively identified Prentis Lee in a six-person photographic lineup as the person responsible for allegedly shooting him.
He was also shown a single photographic form where he positively Denise Woody as the person responsible for allegedly ordering Lee to shoot her.
Lee and Woody have been charged with attempted second-degree murder.
Woody is being held on $50,000 bond. Lee’s bond information is unknown at this time.
