Memphis, Tenn. — A troubled Frayser nightclub is making headlines again after six people were hurt in an overnight shooting.
It happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday at the Infiniti Sports Bar and Grill on North Watkins.
Police said one man was shot and the other five were hurt in a crash trying to speed off.
This is the third shooting at the club in the past few years.
Investigators were back on the scene Sunday morning, hours after what witnesses described as a “Wild West shootout” that spanned from the parking lot, to the street, to an apartment complex around the block.
People who live nearby tell WREG they heard gunshots for about an hour.
“How many gunshots do you think you heard?” we asked.
“Oh, like about a hundred or more,” said Corey Grandberry, who works as a security guard at the apartment complex.
Another neighbor said she heard more than 50 shots.
Detectives found at least 36 shell casings and a shot-up car, and crews spent hours replacing a utility pole that was knocked down when five people trying to make a getaway crashed into it.
Police said they will be OK, but the man who was shot is in critical condition at the hospital.
“I was worried for everybody’s safety, including my own,” Grandberry said.
Police tell me one guy was shot and is in critical condition in the hospital.

Witnesses said one car full of men drove down their street shooting twice – even after police got there.
“They came back shooting again, they stopped, then they came back 30 more minutes shooting,” Grandberry said.
He did the only thing he knew to do at the time, which was to lock up.
“They started parking cars outside the streets and I had already locked the gates so they couldn’t get in,” Grandberry said.
Witnesses said there were so many people driving and running down the road that they couldn’t tell where the bullets were coming from.
“There was lots of cars,” Grandberry said. “There was traffic that was over here on this street that never does come down this street… They was trying to get way.”
In 2013, a 25-year-old man was gunned down outside the club while celebrating his birthday.
The following year, a 17-year-old was shot there.
The club’s owner hasn’t responded to a request for comment.
The five people hurt in the crash are being questioned, but investigators said Sunday they haven’t made any arrests.
