(Jackson, MS) Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood said people with an enhanced concealed-carry permit may legally take hidden firearms onto public school campuses, as long as the area is generally open to the public.

Hood gave his nonbinding legal opinion during an interview earlier this week.

Last month, De Soto County decided people with enhanced permits can carry guns into county buildings, including the courthouse.
