(Mississippi) The Mississippi Emergency Management Association is asking residents to prepare for severe weather.
Strong winds, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes could develop ahead of an approaching cold front Tuesday night.
They are asking residents to get a weather radio and have a family emergency plan.
They want residents in mobile homes to find a safe place to wait out the severe weather.
If you are in a car when the storm hits, they are encouraging you to abandon the vehicle and get into a nearby ditch or sturdy structure.
Finally, make sure and check and restock your emergency supply kit in case you are without electricity for several days.
The News Channel 3 weather team is monitoring the severe weather threat and will keep you posted.
