(Murfreesboro, TN) A Middle Tennessee State University student died Monday morning at a Nashville hospital from what health officials said was a case of bacterial meningitis.

Jacob Nunley, 18, of Dyersburg died around 8 a.m. 

Doctors are treating the death as a possible case of meningitis.

Those who were in contact with Nunley since the beginning of September are encouraged to see a doctor.

Members of Nunley’s fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity have set up a Facebook page in memory of Nunley, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Remembering-Jacob-Nunley/301660573275108.

MTSU students were told about Nunley’s death Monday and some were given antibiotics as a precaution.
