MEMPHIS, Tenn. — At a news conference Thursday afternoon, CrimeStoppers confirmed the family of Susan McDonald is offering a $25,000 reward in the case.

CrimeStoppers is offering another $1,000 to that.

That brings the total to $26,000.

Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH. Callers may remain anonymous.

“We do not know who our callers are. We do not want to know who our callers are,” said Buddy Champman with CrimeStoppers.

Police would not otherwise comment on the status of the case, saying it is an ongoing investigation.

Susan McDonald was shot outside a home near Ericson Road and Bazemore Road on Aug. 1.

Police have said the shooting appears to have been an attempted robbery.

McDonald drove to the home to pick up her friend for a running race.

They said someone followed her in a different car, drove by and shot her as she pulled up in the driveway.

At the time, she was talking on the phone to her friend who lives at the home.

Police say a security camera at a neighbor’s home may have caught the car the robber used.

It is a newer model dark-colored midsized Sedan with a Tennessee temporary tag.

A GoFundMe account has raised more than $35,000 for a reward.

Chapman said the family’s contribution is from online crowd funding.
