MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The doors of Walt’s Place have been shuttered for good.

The nightclub on Commerce Circle was shut down Nov. 14 as a nuisance. Police said it served untaxed liquor and had no liquor license.

The owner, Walter McCrimmon, 44, was also charged with promoting prostitution at the club. Police said he set prices for customers to have sex with the employees.

Judge Larry Potter ruled Wednesday the club will close permanently.

McCrimmon, who formerly worked as a teacher at Raleigh-Egypt High School but has since resigned, is out on a $50,000 bond. He will appear in court again Nov. 30.
