MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a man wanted in a violent robbery last fall in Whitehaven was arrested Monday when he was found inside a vacant building along Crump Boulevard with a stolen gun.
Deangelo Bills, 44, was charged with especially aggravated robbery. He is also facing weapons and drug charges.

Investigators said on Oct. 11, 2024, Bills, who goes by the nickname “Wild,” shot another man in the back during a robbery in the 4700 block of Tulane Road.
The victim told police that Bills took $300 from him after he shot at him once in the lower back.
A witness inside a nearby apartment identified a man named “Wild” as the person responsible.
According to the affidavit of complaint, on Oct. 24, 2024, the victim also picked Bills, aka “Wild,” out of a six-person lineup. It’s not clear why he was not taken into custody.
Monday night, officers responded to a suspicious call at an abandoned building in the 400 block of Crump. Police said they found Bills inside the old Metro Shopping Plaza with a stolen gun under his feet.

Officers said Bills also had nearly 16 grams of Fentanyl on him and gave them a false name.
Police said that Bills is a convicted felon who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2015. Bills is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
