{Bolivar, TN) A spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board said key parts of the Hospital Wing helicopter that crashed Tuesday morning have been found.
Ralph Hicks with the NTSB said crews have recovered main parts of the chopper such as the blades and engine but avionics controls were destroyed in a fire caused by the crash.
The Eurocopter AS350 crashed around 7 Tuesday morning along Jones Creek near Highway 64 as it headed towards Bolivar.
Investigators say they have detected a turn to the south by the chopper, which took it off its planned course shortly before the crash.
More than a dozen witnesses have come forward.
The remains of the chopper will be taken to Nashville and reconstructed starting Friday.
No problems were communicated by the crew before the crash.
Hospital Wing pilot Charles Smith, Pedi-Flite Nurse Carrie Barlow and Pedi-Flite Respiratory Therapist Denise Adams died in the crash.
