COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — An off-duty Memphis Police officer received minor injuries when a shoplifting suspect’s car dragged him.
Employees at the Kroger at Houston Levee and Winchester detained the shoplifter when an altercation ensued at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The officer noticed what was happening and intervened to help, but the suspect got away, ran into the parking lot, and got into a car.
The officer chased after the suspect and was dragged by the getaway vehicle. His knee and leg were scraped, but he is otherwise OK.
The suspect has not been caught. No description is available yet.
