MEMPHIS, Tenn. –After the funeral service, the hearse carrying Officer Sean Bolton made its way to his final resting place at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Forest Hill Irene.
The processional of cars lead by MPD command staff made its way through the crossed ladder trucks positioned in front of the cemetery gates.
It was followed in by MPD squad cars like the one Officer Bolton patrolled in every day.
They loaded the casket onto a horse-drawn carriage, one of the many traditions reserved only for those killed in the line of duty.
Police Director Toney Armstrong and City C.A.O. Jack Sammons were among those who walked behind the carriage.
Officer Bolton was a member of two brotherhoods.
He was both a Police Officer and a Marine.
There was a strong showing of military veterans here along with citizens who wanted to show their gratitude.
