In all, 321 officers are being remembered in this year’s ceremony.

Lang was shot to death in December while serving a drug warrant.

During the ceremony, President Obama spoke about the sacrifices Officer Lang and all of her fellow officers made, “We should not pause and remember to thank first responders and police officers only in the wake of tragedy. We should do it every day,”

By Presidential order, all flags are to be flown at half-staff in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial D which was established by President Kennedy.
