CLEVELAND, Miss. — A Mississippi police officer is recovering after he was shot in the line of duty Monday night.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the 800 block of Beamon Drive in Cleveland, MS.
The officer was taken to Jackson, MS where he underwent surgery.
Police say his injuries are not life threatening.
The suspect was brought to Memphis and is in police custody.
WREG was told the officer is expected to be okay.
