BARTLETT, Tenn. — A medical manufacturing company is set to build a new multi-million dollar facility in Bartlett.

On Thursday, Olympus announced it will construct a national service and distribution center in the Bartlett Corporate Park.

More than $12 million is being invested in the new facility which will create more than 280 new jobs in the next five years.

This is only the second national center created by the company which produces equipment and devices like endoscopes, surgical devices and generators.

The first was built in San Jose, California.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring.

“Today’s announcement represents the largest jobs commitment made by a company in Bartlett since 2000,” Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said. “To have a company like Olympus that is known around the world for its innovative medical devices choose Bartlett for its new national service center speaks volumes to Tennessee’s thriving healthcare industry. We appreciate the jobs Olympus is creating for our Team Tennessee workforce and look forward to seeing the company’s continued success.”

Olympus will begin accepting online applications once positions have been posted and plans to begin hiring this summer/fall.
