Infant Medicine Recalled

(Memphis) A Michigan-based drug company is recalling infant acetaminophen sold at several national chains.

Perrigo issued a voluntary nationwide recall of 18 batches of its acetaminophen infant suspension liquid.

The products covered under the recall were sold in 2 oz. and 4 oz. bottles with syringes.

The acetaminophen was sold under store brand names such as Kroger, Rite Aid and Walgreens, as well as Babies-R-Us and Target’s Up and Up.

The company is recalling the product because some packages might contain an oral dosing syringe without markings.

The correct syringe should have a white or yellow plunger with specific dose markings.

Retailers have been notified.  Consumers who have an incorrect syringe should stop using it and contact the company at 1-800-719-9260.
