Mo’ Money Workers Back After IRS Visit

(Memphis) A day after agents from the IRS Criminal Investigative Division spent an entire day at Mo’ Money, employees were back to work Thursday at the Memphis, based tax prep firm.

Several cars were parked outside Mo’ Money’s headquarters on Millbranch Thursday morning. The doors were locked, but employees yelled at our WREG On Your Side Investigators crew from inside, saying they didn’t want to talk.

IRS officials say agents finished up after 7p.m. Wednesday.

We saw them hauling boxes from suite to suite in what they would only confirm as “official business.”

Mo’ Money Taxes has been at the center of controversy since February when customers complained they couldn’t get their refunds.

Mo’ Money Co-Founder Markey Granberry told us Wednesday he requested the IRS get involved to determine why taxpayers weren’t getting their refunds.

IRS officials would not confirm Granberry’s comments or the reason for their visit.

A spokesperson would only say their visit was part of a process in determining what was going on.
