(Memphis)  Imagine not being able to stop, or slow down.

This is exactly why two major, car manufacturers are recalling thousands of SUVs.

Mazda is recalling more than 200,000 Tributes because the throttle could get stuck.

The models years involved are 2001-2006 and 2008.

The SUVs have 3.0L V6 engines and include speed control.

Ford also recalled more than 400,000 Escapes for the same reason.

The recall is expected to start August 6th.

Officials from Ford say they will contact affected customers and offer repairs free of charge.
