MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was killed after an argument over $10 led to gunfire in North Memphis.
Police said one person was shot at Keel Avenue and Randle Street following an argument with a known male around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
“I don’t know what happened,” said Denisha Anderson. “I was just called and came because of course that’s my baby daddy.”
Anderson told WREG’s Jerrita Patterson she’s pregnant with the victim’s child, which is due in February. Even more startling was the fact that the child’s father, 18, is now gone all because of an argument that spiraled out of control over $10, she said.
She along with other friends and family were so overcome with grief that they breached the crime scene as emotions ran high.
“I do want to see him one last time, but I can’t and it hurts,” she said. “He had one life. I’m pregnant. What am I going to do? What am I going to tell my baby?”
So far, authorities have not provided any details on the victim. They also have not provided any suspect information except to say that no arrests have been made. If you know anything about this incident, call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
