MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was rescued from a house fire in the Orange Mound area Monday.
According to reports, the house in the 3000 block of Chisca Avenue caught on fire and quickly filled with smoke.
One person, a 55-year-old man, was found in a bedroom and taken to Regional One Medical Center in critical condition due smoke inhalation.
Fire investigators have determined the cause of the fire was accidental.
According to reports, the blaze was the result “of careless use of smoking material in the bedroom area.”
