Boy Scouts to collect food for Mid-South Food Bank Saturday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A group of young men will be collecting donations for a good cause on Saturday.

The Boy Scouts of America has pledged to collect 65,000 servings of cereal this summer to help the Mid-South Food Bank fight child hunger in the bluff city.

Scouts told WREG they would be at the Kroger at 2130 Exeter Road just off of Poplar Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. collecting donations for the campaign.

Those interested in helping the troops can drop off donations of cereal, cereal bars, boxed oatmeal, boxed grits, pop tarts or cash donations at that location.

WREG was told that every $1 donation would pay for 17 servings of cereal.

That means no donation is too small and will help feed a child in our area.
