Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards winners

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The sixth annual The Orpheum’s High School Musical Theatre Awards were held Monday night.

Awards recognize achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre and are part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards program.

More than 200 students perform and accepted awards.

Best known for his starring roles on Broadway in Pippin, Next to Normal, Wicked, and Xanadu, Arkansas native Kyle Dean Massey was the Host of the evening and performed in the opening number with over 80 high school students from the midsouth.

In June, the winners of the Lead Actor and Actress categories will travel to New York City to compete nationally in the Jimmy Awards held at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.
