MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Commuters coming into the downtown area on Interstate 40 will have to deal with lanes closures following an overnight crash involving an 18-wheeler.

Police say the truck overturned in the westbound lanes of I-40 at the Millington exit — known as the 101 Connector.

As of 4 a.m., the two right lanes of I-40 westbound were closed and the on ramp from North Watkins St. to I-40 westbound is blocked.

TDOT estimates that it will be at least 8 a.m. before the scene is clear — so you may want to consider using alternate routes like James Rd., Thomas St. or Jackson Ave. to avoid the area.
