OXFORD, Miss. — One man was arrested after police say he told customers inside a Mississippi Walmart he had planted a bomb.
Oxford Police were called to the Walmart around 4 p.m. Sunday after management became aware that a man was going around the store telling others he had planted a bomb and they needed to leave.
The store was evactuated and three explosive K9 officers were called to the scene to help search the building. The threat was deemed to be false and the all-clear given just before 8 p.m.
The man who made the claim was identified as a 26-year-old Oxford resident. He was arrested while trying to leave the store but charges have not been filed at this time.
