Parents concerned after fights at Wooddale High

MEMPHIS, Tenn  Michelle Blaine is concerned about security at Wooddale High.  Blaine said her son was beaten severely in the school’s cafeteria several weeks back.

“About five or six guys kicking my son, hitting him, throwing stuff at him. It took the sheriff to come our and put his body over my son to secure him,” said Blaine.

She immediately was concerned when she heard a 17-year old girl stabbed a 16-year old girl inside the school just as class was letting out around 2:20pm Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies never found the knife, but say one was used.  The school has metal detectors so it’s unclear how the weapon got inside the building. Although, some students tell WREG the school rarely uses the detectors.

The 17-year old was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon on school property.
