MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Laurelwood Shopping Center Monday.
According to a spokesperson with the Memphis Police, the women was hit in the head with a pistol before the suspect grabbed her money and took off.
She was taken to a local hospital in non-critical condition.
Now police need your help finding the suspect who fled from the area in a red Toyota Camry.

Here is a statement from Laurelwood:
“We had an incident on the property yesterday around 5 pm. A woman was hit in the face, and her purse was stolen. She was taken to the hospital and is in noncritical condition and will fully recover. We have never had an incident like this happen before in over 50 years of being in business, and I am shocked and saddened by it. We are meeting with our security company this morning to discuss and implement any necessary steps to deter this from happening on our property again. Safety at Laurelwood is an absolute priority.”
