SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — Shelby County deputies say a man was killed late Monday after being struck by a vehicle.

The accident happened on Hacks Cross Road at Bill Morris Parkway (State Route 385) around 10 p.m. Monday.

Deputies say it appears that the driver was exiting Bill Morris Parkway when he accidentally hit 31-year-old Jessie James Baum of Holly Springs, who was walking along Hacks Cross.

The driver remained at the scene and was questioned by deputies.
