People march down Winchester for healing, truth in Stewart case

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It started with a peaceful march on the spot where Darius Stewart was shot and killed.

The marchers said their primary goals were to make sure the family could heal and to get the truth.

But as the night went on, they got bolder.

At one point, they even blocked traffic, all while demanding justice in the 19-year-old’s death.

Police kept everyone at bay, reminding them to follow the law, but then they started marching down Winchester Road.

They were angry about the Stewart case and all the violence in general.
