BATON ROUGE, La. — Two women from Memphis were arrested Wednesday in Baton Rouge.
WAFB reported 17-year-old Cheyenne Topps, also know as “Pineapple”, and 21-year-old Marissa Phillips were taken into custody on prostitution and human trafficking charges.
According to reports, Baton Rouge Police received a call from Child Protective Services saying a woman named “Pineapple” was using the site Backpage to solicit sex.
They told authorities they believed she was a minor and maybe prostituting with another woman and her two children.
An undercover officer set up a meeting with the juvenile, and when she asked for the money, he pulled out the cash and his badge.
It was soon discovered, Phillips and her children were traveling with Topps and had been in the lobby the entire time.
Phillips claimed she didn’t know Topps was engaging in prostitution but did reveal she and the suspect were sexual partners.
The children were taken into state custody and the two women to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Phillips, who had already been charged with prostitution in the past, was charged with promoting prostitution and human trafficking.
Topps was charged with prostitution.
