PINE BLUFF, Ark. — A 14-year-old boy from central Arkansas faces a second-degree murder charge after police say he killed a teen while playing with a pistol.

KATV-TV reported the unnamed child was being held Sunday night at the Jack Jones Juvenile Justice Center in Pine Bluff.

Calls to the detention center and the Pine Bluff Police Department by the Associated Press weren’t immediately returned on Monday.

Police said 19-year-old Joshua Campbell died Saturday night from a single gunshot wound.

They said a group of teens were playing with the gun at an area home when the suspect pulled the trigger.

The suspect was at the scene when officers arrived.

Police said the death is the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
