MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping after an incident that happened Saturday in Martyrs Park.
A woman was jogging in the park at 655 Riverside Drive around 9 a.m. Saturday when a man elbowed her and hit her in the face, police said.
The man demanded the victim be quiet and go with him, police said. He dragged her to the parking lot, but witnesses heard the victim yelling and intervened. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
The woman, who is 36, suffered multiple abrasions and lacerations, police said. She was transported to Methodist University Hospital in noncritical condition.
Police identified Lepear Grissom, 31, as the man who attacked and kidnapped her. Police located him Monday and took him into custody.
