(Memphis) Police have developed suspects in the case involving a two-year-old girl shot in South Memphis.
Officers are on the lookout for a couple of men who could be the shooters in the December 19th incident, but police are not releasing any names because the men haven’t been officially charged.
Chrissiya Berry’s arm almost had to be amputated after she was hit by a flying bullet.
Two weeks later, the two-year-old is still in Le Bonheur Hospital.
She’s gone from the ICU, and almost death, to now having a smile on her face.
But police are taking this case seriously.
“They are out here almost every day,” said Neighbor Tareco Hodges.
Police officers tell us they might now know who is responsible for the gun battle that happened in the parking lot of Warren Apartments.
Two men had been shooting at each other, sending bullets all across the complex.
One of the bullets lodged into Berry’s arm as she was sitting in her own home, watching cartoons on TV, “I have a child of my own so it’s always sad to see a child get hurt.”
Neighbors who heard the gun shots that day and saw two men in the parking lot say they hope police catch-up with them.
“There is no telling what I would want to do if it was my child,” said Hodges.
Hodges says this kind of violence just doesn’t make sense.
Family members say the two-year-old has been through multiple surgeries and still has another one scheduled for Monday.
