MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Memphis Police are still looking for two men who held up a hair supply store and shot and killed an employee over hair.

It’s the second deadly shooting in two months involving hair extensions.

Police said Wednesday two men wearing ski masks and dressed in black went into the Bundles of Hair on Millbranch Road in Whitehaven, demanded hair, and then shot the employee.

The owner of Essentials Beauty Supply in Hickory Hill said they keep all their high-end hair behind the counter under lock in key.

They also buzz in customers, won’t let people wearing hoodies inside the store and have cameras all over the place.

“We have security here . Like I said, you are on camera all the time,” said Mae Smith.

Smith knows how valuable real hair can be, but is still shocked someone would kill over it.

“I don’t understand why,” said Smith.

In January, a pregnant woman and her boyfriend were shot and killed during a robbery at the Tulane Apartments.

Smith knows the father of  one of the victims and heard it was over Brazilian hair.

“My concern is that this is going to far.  I don’t understand why. I’m just waiting to see what is going to be done about it,” said Smith.

Gerald Shields was charged in the triple murder at the Tulane Apartments, but told police others were involved.

Police said the suspects involved in the robbery and shooting at Bundles of Hair left the scene in a small blue vehicle.
