Woman shot at auto body repair shop

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are investigating a shooting that ended with a victim in the parking lot of the Tillman Station precinct.

The woman who was found had a bullet hole in her hand.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. at Universal Auto on Summer Ave. near Highland.

Police tell WREG the woman was driven to the police station by a man who is being questioned by detectives.

Police say shots were fired by an employee and someone at Universal.

People who work nearby say they heard the gun shots.

“I just heard a bunch of gunshots there in the back it was like 10,” said Scott Hughes, who has a welding shop on the other side of Highland.  “It was pretty rapid and there is couple of extra ones at the end.”

No other injuries have been reported but at least two cars were hit by bullets.

One was the vehicle at Tillman, the other at the BP gas station across from the auto-body shop.
