Elderly couple found dead in Whitehaven home

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Kristie Carr showed up moments after the bodies of her parents, Eddie and Annette Carr, were removed from their home.

Neighbors called police after they hadn’t seen or heard from the couple in several days.

The last time they heard from them was when Eddie was out cutting grass.

“It was hot when he was cutting it and I thought why is he out there cutting it,” said Harold Rogers.

Officers went inside an unlocked back door and found both the man and woman dead inside their home.

Officers told WREG they did not find any signs of foul play and it’s possible the death was heat related.

Neighbors said the couple’s air conditioning system was not working and one man said Medical Examiners told him the same thing.

“He said the air was on, but the compressor wasn’t  working,” said Greg Mungar.

It means the system was pushing out warm air instead of cool.

The medical examiner hasn’t confirmed that, and the couples only daughter was left to figure out how this happened.

“I talked to them a couple weeks ago. I was going to plan to do stuff with them. I didn’t realize all this,” said Kristie Carr.
