MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A violent day in the Mid-South. Four seperate shootings in a matter of hours.

Two people were killed and a third person is in the hospital.

The first shooting happened on Nelson in the Beltline area just after 1 p.m.

Police said a man was found shot to death in a home, and the suspect, who knew the victim, stayed on the scene.

Around 4 p.m., investigators were in Whitehaven trying to solve a disturbing murder at Bundles of Hair on Millbranch.

Police said two masked men wearing all black went into the store, demanded hair weaves, and then shot and killed an employee.

“We see him come here and open up the store and go to work,” said Jermone Shorter, who owns a business next door.

He and his wife shook their heads in disbelief as they closed up shop Wednesday night.

“Just pray. Our city needs a revival. We definitely need a revival,” said Tora Shorter.

A half an hour later, another shooting happened across town at Memphis Inn on American Way where officers said a person was shot during a robbery.

The victim is expected to be okay.

Just before 5 p.m., another shooting happened on Mt. Moriah at a Mapco gas station.

Witnesses said two people in cars got into a fight and opened fire while every gas pump was full, people were walking in and out of the store, and cars were on the road.

At least six rounds were fired.

“Obviously they didn’t have any regard for human life. Anybody could have gotten hit in that situation,” said Amber Lockett.

Amber Lockett was at a red light when she saw the chaos unfold.

“I was really just praying I didn’t get hit by a stray bullet,” she said.

Dozens of people took cover, hid behind cars and prayed.

Police said they never found a victim, but did handcuff a woman.

Police have yet to say if any arrests have been made, and seem to have pretty vague descriptions of the suspects.

Officers did say the men involved in the Bundles of Hair robbery, may have left a shoe behind before getting in a small, blue car.
