MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police were called to a local restaurant overnight after an armed robbery.
It happened at the Waffle House in the 4300 block of American Way in Parkway Village.
According to police, two men wearing ski masks entered the restaurant around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9. One was reportedly armed with a sawed-off shotgun while the other carried a handgun.
Both suspects demanded cash from the register and then took off on foot.
No one was injured during the encounter.
Dylan McGriff was across the street from the Waffle House when the robbery happened. He didn’t see the robbers, but he watched as police canvassed the area fro the suspects.
“I guess they thought they might of saw someone coming over or something,” he said.
It’s not clear how much money was stolen or if any customers were inside at the time.
