MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Robbers wearing disguises, gloves and toting guns.

At least four businesses have been held up since Friday night, and in some cases, customers were reportedly robbed too.

The bold attacks happened throughout the city from Cordova to Midtown.

The first happened Friday night around 8:30.

Police said two robbers wearing jogging suits and gloves and armed with a semi-automatic handgun barged into a Family Dollar on Cleveland near Poplar.

They reportedly cleared the cash registers.

The manager told police one suspect threatened her life just before the pair took a customer’s wallet and got away.

“I live in this neighborhood, and you don’t want things like that happening,” said Ezra Wheeler.

Four hours later, police said cameras caught three suspects run into a CVS on Germantown Parkway, waving their guns and demanding customers get on the ground.

Detectives said one suspect swiped $30,000 worth of prescription pills while the others snatched customers’ phones.

“That’s a problem. That’s a problem especially if it’s the same group,” said Wheeler.

Police haven’t said if the crimes are connected, or if it’s the same group who held up a Family Dollar on Summer near North Hollywood around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

In that incident two armed robbers wearing ski masks, hoodies and gloves demanded the clerk open the cash register or they’d kill him.

“I will be scared thinking they going to be coming and robbing folks while I’m in there,” said shopper Angel Harper.

Police responded to another robbery Monday in the middle of a busy strip mall on Park during lunch time.

Detectives said an armed man wearing a spiked, black wig robbed Sally’s Beauty Supply.

“If there’s a string of these things, hopefully they can get it locked down and get those people put in jail,” said Wheeler.

Police said they are also investigating a robbery that happened at Metro PCS Saturday around 5:15 p.m.

Officers said a lone gunman wearing a wig and sunglasses demanded money from the cash register.

Again, it’s unclear if these crimes are connected.
