MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A child has been found after police said his noncustodial mother took him.
Police said 7-year-old Christian Rogers was with his great-aunt, who has custody of him, in the 4100 block of Florida Street. Around 4 p.m., the boy’s mother, Cassandra Rogers, 36, showed up and took him, without permission.
Memphis Police’s aviation and K-9 units are helping search woods in the area. Police did not believe the boy is in immediate danger.
The boy was found safe downtown in the 200 block of South Fourth Street around 8 p.m., and police detained the mother.
