MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A local man faces multiple charges after he allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend and then raped her inside her own home.

According to police documents, the victim returned home with a friend around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Around 10:45 p.m., the duo was sitting on the bed talking when Dominque Gregory jumped out from underneath the bed and began hitting the victim in the face.

Gregory then ran into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and threatened to kill his ex.

The friend got in between the pair and pushed Gregory back.

It’s unclear what happened next, but we do know at some point during the night the friend left the apartment with Gregory and the victim still inside.

She later told police Gregory had forced her to stay inside.

Monday morning, he raped her and then left.

When he returned several hours later, Gregory kicked open the back door and was greeted by a security officer who detained him until police arrived.

Investigators said the victim had an order of protection against Gregory, which he knowingly violated.

Gregory was taken to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and arrest for violation of a protection order.

His bond was set at $500,000.

He is expected to be back in court on Wednesday.
