Police: Mid-South businesses hit by $60,000 in credit card fraud

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mid-South businesses were hit by $60,000 dollars in credit card fraud. Police said Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club were both victims.

Officers said Darrion Dixon used a First Tennessee Bank card for the scheme.

“Very frustrating because what’s going to happen is the cost is going to go up on the people that try to go in and make honest purchases,” Alonja Knowles said.

Knowles said she shops at the Sam’s Club on Getwell Road in Southeast Memphis almost every week. It’s one of many places police said Dixon hit up in the Memphis area.

He was arrested Thursday in Southaven, Mississippi, while trying to get gas.

Police said they found a card reader in his car.
