MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Five people were shot Wednesday in South Memphis, leaving two dead and three in critical condition, police said.
Officers were called at 3:35 Wednesday afternoon to a shooting in the 900 block of College Park in the Soulsville neighborhood.
All the victims were adults. One man was pronounced dead at the scene while another died at a hospital, police said. Three people were in critical condition.
Police did not have information on any suspects. They said gunfire was exchanged inside a home.
The shooting happened near LeMoyne-Owen College, but the school said in an email that it did not happen on campus and did not involve or impact students, faculty or staff. There were no lockdowns on campus and the school remained fully operational.
