MEMPHIS, Tenn. — They lurk in the shadows and then show up places they’re not welcome.

Stalkers are on the loose in Shelby County, and right now the Shelby County Fugitive Apprehension Team is trying to located 52 accused stalkers.

They posted photos on Facebook of the people they are looking for.

Logan Honeycutt is wanted for aggravated stalking.

William Davis is wanted for the same thing plus harassment and violating a protection order.

People we spoke to at the Exchange Club Family Center said getting these bad guys off the street and into jail will help give the victim’s peace of mind.

“Your safety is compromised. Maybe you don’t feel as safe, and it can be traumatizing to be stalked,” said Kimberly Smith with the center.

Mental health experts and investigators link stalking to domestic violence.

WREG uncovered deputies are looking for more than 1200 domestic violence fugitives.

“You might have stalking behaviors that lead up to physical incidents or sexual violence. That may be some of the red flags to let the person know that this isn’t right,” said Smith.

So be aware of the signs in your own life.

“If this happens, the first thing you can do is to call 911 because this is a crime. Call the police,” Smith said.

And keep your eyes open to protect those around you.
