MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police said a coke-sniffing barber is off of the streets after kidnapping his customers.

Cory Miller is accused of pulling a gun inside of a North Memphis barbershop.

One of the alleged victims said she is lucky to be alive.

The ‘Talk Of The Town’ barbershop was the word on the street for all of the wrong reasons.

“I was scared. I mean I was terrified,” Sherry Thibodeaux said.

Thibodeaux, a Memphis mother, thought she was going to die inside of the Jackson Avenue business last Monday.

“All of a sudden like he kind of flipped in flip mode,” Thibodeaux said.

She said she watched Miller snort a line of cocaine while cutting hair.

That is when police said Miller accused customers of stealing from him and pulled out a gun.

“He was like ‘give me my *bleep* stuff or I’m going to kill you,'” the concerned mother said.

Miller’s father said he was fired from his job right after the alleged attack, but officers cuffed him on Monday.

“Oh no, no, no, no. I haven’t had any trouble out of Cory,” Floyd Miller said.

Cory has had trouble with the law.

He has been in and out of jail for years on serious charges such as domestic violence.

“I don’t know if that’s true or not,” Miller said.

“I was kind of like panicking,” Thibodeaux said. “I was thinking am I going to get to see them or not?”

Victims said they begged Miller to let them go, and he eventually released them.

Even though the man and woman are blessed to be alive, those held hostage want justice served.

“He could have killed us. You know? A bullet don’t have a name on it,” Thibodeaux said.
